Corroboree Park Tavern is situated between two of the Top End’s major rivers: the Adelaide River to the west and the Mary River to the east. The Tavern offers a unique opportunity for visitors to enjoy the amazing wetlands on either side.
With grassed, shady caravan and camp sites and budget accommodation, the Tavern is a great base from where you can enjoy your Top End adventures. The caravan park has a saltwater pool, laundry facilities, dump point and room for the biggest RV or fifth wheeler.
If you love fishing, there are several boat ramps within half an hour’s drive from the Tavern giving fishermen access to Shady Camp, Mary River Lagoon, Hardies Lagoon and the iconic Corroboree Billabong. Many fishing guides call in on their way to fish the barramundi hotspots so it’s easy to book yourself a day charter.
The Tavern also plays host to some of the best fishing competitions in Australia: the Secret Women’s Business Barra Challenge (women only), the family-oriented Corroboree Park Challenge and the Territory Freshwater Fly Fishing Open. Plus the Million Dollar Fish Competition is on again – don’t forget to register!
There are some great experiences easily accessible from the Tavern, including Pudakul Aboriginal Cultural Tours and the world-famous Jumping Crocodile Cruises. Wetland Cruises offer great guided cruises on the well-known Corroboree Billabong and have a shuttle bus that leaves from the Tavern.
The area is also home to over 250 species of birds and the rare Gouldian Finch can be found close by. For birdwatchers, it is a dream area. Furthermore, in an hour you can be in Darwin CBD or one of our truly amazing national parks: Litchfield or Kakadu National Park.
All ages are catered for at the Corroboree Park Challenge.
