FishBroome is a new fishing operation operating on the fish-rich west coast. Broome is a very special fishing destination, and FishBroome caters for anglers of all skill levels – from the casual dangler who just wants a fish on the end of the line, right through to the mad fisho who travels halfway across the world in search of a particular trophy species.
Whether your passion is heavy tackle game fishing, billfish on fly or pelagic speedsters on light tackle, then Broome is the place to provide you with the most memorable fishing experience imaginable.
At FishBroome the professional crew offer local knowledge and top hospitality. Their aim is to make your day an enjoyable one to remember, and they see their job as putting smiles on faces. The only concern for passengers is sore arms at the end of the day!
FishBroome run three different vessels. The first is Waverider 2, a custom 33ft walk around powered by twin 200hp Hondas and fitted with outriggers and a full Farina electronics package, making the search for sailfish and pelagics off Broome just a little more productive.
Rarebreed 2 is the main reef fishing vessel, a 40ft jet-powered fishing machine with the ability to fish 12 people in comfort.
Good cruising speeds mean that FishBroome can travel further to get onto the fish, to provide the results that keep you wanting to come back for more. Orca is a 46ft Cresta game fishing boat with a fair bit of history targeting XOS marlin off Cairns. FishBroome want to write a few new pages in Orca’s history, with large marlin still in mind, but with a small twist.
How would you feel leaving the mooring mid morning? Steam 40-60 nm off Broome, trolling high speed lures all the way. Set up for an evening chasing big red emperor, large fingermark and other reef fish while the crew prepare you a home-style meal. Have a nice hot shower and sleep in a comfortable bed, before waking to the hum of the engines as the crew prepare the teasers, lures and bait in search of black marlin that we know inhabit these waters. As we work closer to Broome you will find us downsizing the gear and targeting sailfish, before arriving back on the mooring at around 4pm.
Orca is fitted with a state of the art 3D bottom imaging system, and a brand new 9.5kva genset ensures the lights remain bright all night.

One of the things that makes Broome so special is the multitude of attractions besides fishing. From June through to November humpback whales are around in good numbers, plus turtles and sea snakes keep you wondering where to look as you travel over the turquoise waters off Broome.
FishBroome use only quality Shimano reels – Tiagra 20s through to 130s and Stella 20000 and T/Curve combos for bottom fishing. Transfers, meals, water and soft drinks are provided – guests just have to BYO alcohol.
