Catalyst PTs baitcasters offer the casting brilliance of Quantum’s top-shelf reels, with the added strength of saltwater design and at a more affordable price. They’re perfect for lure fishing for barra, Murray cod, jewfish and flathead in estuaries and rivers, or casting poppers for tailor, queenfish and the like inshore.
Quantum’s international reputation for baitcaster excellence is evident in the features of the Catalyst PTs. The six bearings are a hybrid design utilising nitrogen-injected stainless steel, combined with polymers that shield the bearings from the elements as well as reducing friction and noise.
The aluminium frame, side covers and front support are CNC machined and each reel features Quantum’s SaltGuard six-layer corrosion protection.
Catalyst baitcasters have 6.3:1 gear ratios; or 7.0:1 in the Burner high-speed model. All Catalyst PTs models offer instant, rock-solid hook-sets courtesy of a clever two-bearing continuous anti-reverse with zero back-play.
MaxCast aluminium spools (V-spool on the Burner), plus a new ceramic drag capable of a whopping 8kg of pressure round out these feature-packed reels.
